BIO

CODY WILSON is a director and editor whose work has been recognized by the BAFTA, Academy Awards, Peabody, and Emmy Awards.

He began his directing career during the 2016 Olympics with a documentary series distributed by Bleacher Report. Wilson later earned his MFA in Film and Television from USC, where his thesis film Driven was selected for the BAFTA Student Awards and won the ASC Student Documentary Award.

Most recently, his editing work on Motorcycle Mary earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Short Documentary, among other honors. The film, distributed by ESPN’s 30 for 30 series and executive produced by Lewis Hamilton, premiered at Tribeca alongside La Rosche, another documentary edited by Wilson. Having two films premiere at Tribeca in the same year highlighted Wilson’s standout contributions as an editor.

Cody’s post-production experience as an editor, assistant editor, and online editor has contributed to two Academy Award winning films through his ongoing collaboration with Breakwater Studios. He also helped define Breakwater’s distinctive voice by cutting trailers for several of its award-winning films.

His commercial editing work includes collaborations with clients such as LSEG, JC Biver, Hodinkee, Porsche, Rivian, Bungie, and Microsoft. Known for his sharp, emotionally resonant editing style, Wilson brings a bold creative vision to compelling, attention-grabbing branded content.
